Purpose
The Worship Arts Department of
Alice Drive Baptist Church exists to create environments of worship
and communication that help as many people as possible take
their next step in Jesus Christ. We accomplish this through these core values: excellence,
unity, and spiritual growth.
Hebrews 13:15-16:

continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess
his name. and do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such
sacrifices God is pleased.
Vocal Music
Traditional Choir
A performance based ensemble that
meets the musical needs of the Traditional service on Sunday mornings at 8:30.
There is no audition necessary to be a member of this choir but the ability to
read music helps! This choir performs a wide range of musical genre from
classical church anthems, and southern gospel, to arrangements of some early
contemporary choruses. A one hour weekly rehearsal is held on Wednesday night
at 6:00pm in room 205.
Worship Choir
The Worship Choir is designed to
function as a worship leading group serving during the Contemporary services on
Sunday mornings at 9:45 & 11:00. No audition is required to be a member of
this group; and, it isn’t even necessary to be able to read music. A love for
singing or “making a joyful noise” is the only requirement! The style of music
is primarily contemporary choral arrangements, combined with new hymn
arrangements and worship songs. A one hour weekly rehearsal usually begins
around 6:30pm on Sunday evenings in the Worship Center.
Big Choir
Big Choir is a newly formed
ensemble that is made up by Traditional & Worship Choir members as well
others who enjoy singing. This choir is utilized for special events such as the
Christmas Season, Palm Sunday, Easter, Patriotic Sunday, and other large Music
& Worship events throughout the year. The musical styles of this group will
vary depending on the need of the event. Rehearsals typically are held about
4-6 weeks out for this group and last about one to one and a half hours each. If
you like to sing but don’t have the time to be in a choir year-round, this is
the choir for you.
Praise Team
The Praise Team is an auditioned
group of vocalists who communicate with and lead the congregational worship
during the Contemporary services on Sunday mornings at 9:45 & 11:00. To
serve on the vocal team a musical audition and an extensive spiritual interview
is required. Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday night’s
following choir rehearsals in the Worship Center and last about one to one and
a half hours each.
Instrumental Music
Praise Band: The Praise Band provides music
for and plays an integral part of worship during the Sunday morning
Contemporary services at 9:45 and 11:00.
Rhythm Section: Experienced musicians are needed. This is and
auditioned group and requires attendance at rehearsals on Sunday afternoons at 5:00
and Wednesday night’s following choir rehearsals in the Worship Center
and last about one to one and a half hours each. Opportunities currently open:
guitar (electric and acoustic), keyboard, piano, drums, and bass.
Horn Section: The same requirements apply to the Horn section as
the Rhythm section. Opportunities currently open: trumpet, trombone, and alto
& tenor sax.
Orchestra: The orchestra provides music for
special occasions such as the Big Choir events and seasonal worship services as
well as adding a voice in the contemporary worship setting with the Praise
Band. Opportunities currently open: string, wind, brass, and percussion.
